The Club has raised a remarkable £10,000 through the Sporting Dinner at the Pirelli Stadium with former Arsenal and England Footballer Paul Merson as the guest speaker.

Willie Welch outlined a bright future for the club and said they were trying to encourage schools to get more involved.

"Sport is for the many, not the few and hockey offers a wonderful opportunity to get out in the fresh air and build life skills of competitiveness, teamwork, discipline and friendship" he said.

"The club have an amazing new artificial turf facility at Shobnall which is being made available to school for midweek usage during the day." 

Subsidised coaching courses are available for teachers willing "to go tha extra mile" he added.
